Zomato Hyperpure Business Analyst Interview Experience
Role : Business Analyst
Experience : 2 years+ as BA (now Senior BA) in Supply Chain Analytics, MNC. NIT grad.
Background : Received an email from people team at zomato (let's call her G) last week regarding hiring drive at Hyperpure, Gurgaon. The drive was conducted on Saturday, 23rd May.
Interview Experience : TLDR; hard to digest the outcome and feedback.
The drive started at 10 am with an introductory call hy G where she gave an overview of culture and expectations. Some candidates joined in-person at Gurgaon office and some online (total \\\~20 candidates)
R1 @ 11:30 am : Interview went for 1 hr+ with a Senior Business Analyst (D). 1st half revolved around my experience, problems I solved in current organisation and the process behind it. Then a couple of medium SQL question, a guesstimate and output of join conditions on SQL.
R2 @ 3 pm : G called and informed I had cleared R1 and she is scheduling R2 shortly. R2 was taken by experience SBA and it was really good. The interviewer was not interested in usual technical questions, rather the interview revolved around problems I solved at current organisation and case studies on Hyperpure value chain. The interview went really good imo and I was hopeful of going ahead.
R3, HR round @6 pm : G called after R2, told to join the same bridge for final discussion. It was an elaborate discussion on work culture expectations, CTC, etc. Usual HR round. Here the problem starts.
Given the speed at which they took the interviews and the positive experience till now, I expected a quick final decision. G confirmed she will inform the decision by Monday.
When I contacted her on Monday she says there is a delay as currently appraisal cycle is ongoing at Zomato and she is busy. I call again on Wednesday she does not pick up. Then she picks up next time saying she will get back by evening. Again no response. I finally call her again on Friday she does not pick up and send a message that she is busy.
By this time, I send an email asking a possible timeline so that I can plan things accordingly and there in an instant email from her on rejection with usual keywords. I am left baffled. I can get rejections, but this does not sit right. Why do HRs don't even gave guts to face the candidate after wasting a full day. This has been a recent trend where all interviews go well and HR suddenly ghosts/rejects without any conversation or feedback.
