I was brought in by the director of product management to present my background as a UX researcher and present to the team why I felt a UX presence would be useful/helpful within the company. It didn't seem so much as me sharing why *I* would be a great fit, much rather that during the panel presentation he asked that I shift the focus to why the company should start thinking UX. At the end, he told me he'd get back to me the following month, which he never did. I think I was used in the end to just put together a UX presentation without getting anything in return - and now they have the knowledge they need.
