Originally this position was open to internal candidates only. A friend who promoted out of the open position back-doored my resume. Eventually it opened to external candidates and I applied online. I exceeded the experience and education requirements and was quickly offered a phone interview with a human resources representative. This was a basic interview about background and skills not necessarily related to the specific position. Several weeks later I was offered an in-person interview with the hiring manager. 3 weeks later I received a generic email telling me I was not selected for this position.
