I had an initial phone screening with someone that sounded like they were in a foreign call center. When discussing my experience, I stated I had 4yrs of experience in this type of role and the interviewer told me they needed someone with 7yrs of experience. I looked back at the listing and it specified for education requirement "Bachelor’s preferred or 7years+ equivalent experience" but then for actual work experience in the role it specified "1 year (Preferred)". I tried to explain to the person on the phone that either they were conflating the numbers or the listing was wrong- and she did not seem to comprehend this. She kept putting me on hold so she could speak with a manager and I eventually got tired of it and told her no thanks. I wouldn't want to work for a company that can't even hire competent phone screeners.
