After weeks of interviewing and a take-home project (open-ended, I wrote my ideas in the form of an essay), I was delighted to hear that I had passed the interview and would receive an offer. I was indeed sent an offer on a Monday morning, and before I could go through it and sign it, my access was revoked. After asking HR about this, they wanted a quick call, and let me know that they wouldn't be able to continue with the offer, and that "I hopefully haven't resigned from my current job yet". I let this slide and tried not to think of it. 2 weeks later, I was contacted again, explaining the tough decisions the company had to take, and that I'd still be offered the job if I was still interested, and this time with a 100% guarantee. Since all the people I interviewed were absolutely adorable, I thought why not give them another chance, just to hear out what they might say and offer? This time we went through a lot of details, from moving to Berlin from another country and finding a new flat to income taxes in Germany and the blue card application process. Again, I was expecting to receive an offer, which I again did not receive, and was told after a silence of 10 days or so that the company would not be able to hire me for this role. All of this happened several months ago. I was not going to write any reviews, but after talking with some friends I wanted to share my experience with other potential applicants, so they know what might be awaiting them. Overall, I think the employees individually are great but the upper management is a nightmare. At least that's my outtake after a uniquely horrible experience.
