The interview was fairly easy with a couple culture rounds and a couple technical rounds.
Ultimately, I was bait and switched and received a low-ball offer so had to decline.

One technical round was a system design question for a basic app
I applied online. I interviewed at Homebot (Denver, CO) in Mar 2018
Interview
I applied for a position as a software developer. Homebot told me that they wanted to hire a pair of developers that had worked together, so I reached out to my friend who was still looking for a job. After interviews, they decided to extend an offer to my friend, only. They said he "sounded more confident." I was devastated until I looked at their website. Then it made sense.
I am a female minority that graduated at the top of my class. My friend is a white male that graduated near the bottom of the same class. (in fact, I helped him through many of his projects). When they told me that he "sounded more confident," what they were really telling me is that I wasn't white enough. It was especially devastating because I believed their lie about hiring a pair of developers when, in the end, they used me to recruit for them.
Take a look at their photos, here.

We are saddened to see this post. At Homebot, we pride ourselves on embracing diversity and fostering a welcoming, safe space for all employees. It appears this person interviewed over 3 years ago in early 2018, and while a lot has changed at Homebot since then, we believe our culture has always been one of our greatest assets and will continue to be. We encourage all future applicants to see for themselves and form your own beliefs about our culture and the diversity across our team that we celebrate each and every day.
