I got through the first 2 stages. The in person interview wasn't easy, there were a lot of questions and subquestions from the panel of 2. Some questions I felt were silly, pointless and almost annoying (ex. do you know how to calculate return on equity; as a Canadian educated and trained professional of course I do and if I didn't, I'd look it up), and the interview went well for over an hour. After all that, I did not make it to the next stage. Have no idea why they kept me there for over an
hour, the interview felt like torture. I didn't like the way one of the individuals spoke to me and the manner in which the conservation was carried, it felt triggering and condescending and I was annoyed throughout, so it wouldn't have worked out anyway, especially if you have to work closely with that person. It's my opinion that the said individual has no business being in that particular role because of the lack of understanding of Canadian work culture. If you're new to Canada, did not go to a Canadian school, have no Canadian experience, you will get hired over a Canadian educated and trained candidate due to the preferences of the executive team. You won't find much diversity here, hiring preferences of the company are clear as day. Afterwards they never even got back to me to let me know that I didn't make it.
