      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hola (Remote, OR) in Aug 2016

      Interview

I applied through recruiter, first round coding into a google drive spreadsheet two tasks, one for recursion, the other to shorten function code (remove redundant pieces of it). The time should have been 30 minutes but I finished later and it was not a problem. The second round was a quick function coding also into a spreadsheet while skyping with a developer, it did not seem complicated however I did not even understood the assignment correctly in the time. All basic javascript (no libraries, frameworks etc., no need for es6 etc.)

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Hola (Remote, OR) in Jul 2016

      Interview

The HR was polite and to the point. They gave me a link to a google doc whiteboard with 2 challenges and I had to solve it in a limited amount of time. The time was sufficient and the questions were not very difficult. There was a strict rule to code in the google doc and not in a repl or an editor or an IDE. No copying to/from external resources. I did a silly mistake of returning 1 instead of 0 and 0 instead of 1 which I realized later on after the time was up. I was turned down to go to the next round for the same. All this is to say, if you're planning to apply, please don't take their coding standards lightly. Don't be disheartened by the negative reviews or their coding standards because they're kind of strict and we all know js is very loosely typed and to squeeze performance and maintenance, there needs to be rules.
