The interview process was one of the oddest that I've experienced. I was called by someone in HR who spoke to me for about 15 minutes. This interview, I found out later was a screening to determine if I was going get to the next interview.. With the same person. Why not just perform a full blown interview while you have me on the phone? The 1st time we spoke she asked what my salary expectations were and I told her. The 2nd interview she asked me again and then said that Hobby Lobby doesn't pay that much. But I told her what I made in the 1st interview, so why are we here? She said that someone of my experience would promote quickly. I asked what was the process for promoting and she said to me... "You just raise your hand and let us know when you are ready and someone will let you know if you are". The next day I received an email request asking for 10 references! They wanted people who I've supervised, who have supervised me and peers. There was no way I was going to through all of that effort to take a pay cut so I sent an email to the recruiter and removed myself from consideration. So in the end I would say that Hobby Lobby needs to update it's hiring practices. They're recruiting as if it's 2015 and aren't structured to promote from within.
