When interviewing with Hive management, I immediately noticed several red flags. Most of their employees had been with the company for less than a year, indicating a revolving door. Moreover, the four interviewers lacked any experience or knowledge of the AV industry. Notably, they lacked a design team or a production department. Once a job was sold, the programmer compiled a list of equipment and initiated the installation process. Their unorganized nature and lack of knowledge about running an AV company were evident. After two weeks of communication, they sent me an offer letter. However, the day before I was scheduled to start working, they sent me a non-compete contract that prohibited me from working in the AV industry if we parted ways for any reason. Needless to say, I declined the offer and avoided a potential conflict of interest.
