      Customer Support Specialist Interview

      15 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HireVue in Oct 2020

      Interview

HireVue uses their own product for their interview process. The interview can consist of video questions related to experience and situations, written responses to questions related to terms of employment or situations, and a game section that analyzes skills related to the functions of the job you're applying for. HireVue has resources for applicants interviewing through their platform, so interviewing for the company itself with its product was extremely helpful in terms of resources to prepare and prospective employment.

      Customer Support Specialist Interview

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HireVue (South Jordan, UT) in Oct 2021

      Interview

I applied for a Customer Support Specialist position from a posting I saw on LinkedIn. I submitted my resume during that initial application. Someone from HireVue did email me the next day saying they'd like to move forward with the application process, which was appreciated, however they asked me to register and apply using the same software that the company is selling (it's an automated Hiring Experience Platform). They also highlighted in bold in that email "Please attach your resume when you register", which left a bad taste in my mouth considering I had already submitted my resume. This leads me to believe the email I received was either automated, or the person who sent the email could not be bothered to enter my already submitted resume into their software, instead asking me to submit it again. But the big red flag here was that I had a question I needed to ask before I started the application process, so I immediately replied to their email with my question. I didn't hear back from anyone. In fact, I didn't get a reply from them until 15 days later, telling me that the position had already been filled. So overall it was a very mediocre first impression. I understand the company wants to use the Hiring Software they are selling for their own hiring process, however there really should be an actual person that can answer any preliminary questions before making potential new hires sign up and apply using said software. Also they shouldn't ask potential new hires to do the same task more than once (i.e. asking to submit a resume twice). It shows they don't respect an applicant's time.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at HireVue in Oct 2020

      Interview

The first interaction you'll have with their recruiters is them asking if you'll accept their extremely low pay (this isn't an offer, it's just to see if you're willing to work for nothing) Next they send you a link to sign up and register for their recruiting site where they want you to again submit your resume (indicating they either haven't even looked at it to begin with or just like making people do their work for them) Their website wants you to record yourself answering their questions within a certain short amount of time and then answer some more generic questions and play some 'games' This is probably the most impersonal process I've ever encountered and also brings into question what they're actually looking for. This seems like an easy way to weed out candidates that don't match their 'corporate look' before anyone on their team even has to waste a second performing an actual interview. If you choose to send off videos of yourself to who knows where, you'll most likely receive a rejection email within a few hours, unless you visually appease them. The speed at which I was rejected was astounding. IMO you're better off looking for other companies that don't dehumanize their applicants the way HireVue does.
