I had one technical interview, which was quite detailed and focused heavily on technical knowledge. I answered the questions successfully, and shortly afterward I received an offer.
However, despite me already having around 1.5 years of experience, the company attempted to make me work unpaid under conditions that did not seem legally valid. What made the situation worse was the effort to justify this by claiming “there is no such regulation,” which felt misleading and unprofessional.
More importantly, regardless of whether someone has 1.5 years of experience or none at all, expecting people to work without pay is simply wrong and unacceptable.
They also repeatedly emphasized the daily 250 TL meal card benefit as if it compensated for the unpaid work expectation.
After I clearly stated that I did not want to continue the process or work under these conditions, I was still asked multiple times if I was “sure” about my decision. Yes, I was sure.
The technical interview itself was fine, but the employment conditions and communication afterward left a very negative impression.
