I put in an application and then I had an interview with the hiring manager . Then I was extended an offer. Easy process for sales professionals. There was nothing else to the process besides a background d check and drug test.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Hendrick Toyota (Apex, NC) in Jan 2021
Interview
Introduction: If you pass the phone screening, the next step is usually an in-person interview at the dealership (or a virtual one if remote options are available).
Common Questions:
Tell me about yourself.
Why do you want to work here?
How do you handle difficult customers?
Describe a time when you had to work as part of a team.
How would you sell a car to a customer who is unsure?
Behavioral Questions: These may focus on customer service, sales, and teamwork. Be prepared to discuss how you've handled specific situations in past jobs.

Question 1
In some cases, dealerships might ask you to perform a mock sales pitch or role-play a customer interaction. This is especially common for sales positions. You could be asked to demonstrate how you'd approach a customer, present a car, or handle an objection.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Hendrick Toyota (North Charleston, SC) in Feb 2022
Interview
Applied by internet job site and was contacted to set up an in person interview. I went in for a quick interview which was very basic. They just covered the essentials of employment. The interview was to just get a general feel/attitude.
