The initial phone screening was conducted by a junior HR representative named Rahul. He asked questions related solely to the sales vertical. The second round was conducted virtually by the Sales Manager. A week later, I had the final round with Surya, the head of the sales department.
Overall, it felt like a waste of time. Rahul did not have the courtesy to provide any updates. After a week, I had to message him myself to find out that my profile had been put on hold. In simple terms, they decided not to move forward with my application, which felt like a waste of my time. A colleague of mine had a similar experience with them. I would advise others not to spend their time interviewing with this company.

Interview Experience at Hector India – Business Analyst Role
I recently attended an interview at Hector India, an agri-commodity trading company, for the position of Business Analyst. The interview process began with a discussion about my background, including my B.Sc. in Agriculture, MBA in Agribusiness Management, and a six-month certification in Data Analytics.
Since I am a fresher, they inquired about my career gap and how I have been preparing for the role. They were particularly interested in data analysis projects related to agribusiness, but at the time, I had only worked on general data analysis projects and did not have any industry-specific case studies to present.
The interviewers encouraged me to take time to work on relevant projects and mentioned that we could reconnect once I had something to showcase. However, after the discussion, I did not receive any further communication from their end.
This experience highlighted the importance of aligning data analytics skills with industry-specific applications, especially in the agri-commodity sector. I am now focusing on developing agribusiness-related analytical projects to strengthen my profile for similar roles in the future.
