I met over coffee with the co worker of this role - we were connected via a mutual work friend. That went really well and he recommended I apply for this role. A few weeks later I was invited in to meet with the director. It seemed to go well and she trusted her employee's input that I would be a good fit. A few weeks after that I was invited in for multiple panel interviews. It was very intense rapid fire questions. There were 2 panels of 3 people each, then a less formal interview with the person I'd be working with and had already met with prior to the interview process. Unfortunately, the two panels asked me all the exact same questions! There was supposed to be a 3rd interview that day as well with a higher up, but they were out ill. It seemed like bit overkill and very exhausting.
The process took over two months. I was turned down for the role with zero feedback why. I was very surprised after the number of people I met with, and the tone during the interviews, that they couldn't be bothered to send a personal message and keep the bridge open for future roles.
