      Customer Experience Associate Interview

      9 May 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Headway (NY) (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2023

      Interview

Don’t waste your time! Also don’t believe the last review as it was clearly written internally and not from an actual candidate. I agree with the other reviews I scrolled down and read. It’s all true! I could tell from the whole process there were red flags but I tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt. They make you jump through hoops for a simple customer support role. It’s not worth it. They are too picky and won’t choose you even if you’re overqualified for the position to begin with. I have no idea who would be good enough for them. They should be more specific in their job description of what they are looking for exactly. I’ve worked at a lot bigger companies and more difficult positions, and I never had an interview process like this one. The first recruiter said he loved my experience and felt like I was a very strong candidate which made me feel I was going to get this role and have it in the bag. He said they needed to hire 13 more people by mid May, so that even more made me believe I had a really great shot. The next step was this ridiculous assessment that yes was easy for me because I’m very qualified for the role, but it takes a time consuming hour and a half to complete. The following step after I passed the assessment portion was another meeting with another recruiter who went over some slides that basically were to teach me HOW TO INTERVIEW. I felt it was a waste of time and a bit condescending. I know about the STAR method, I’ve been interviewing for jobs since I was 16, thank you very much. After getting through that annoying ordeal, I made it to the final round with two back to back interviews. I felt I did exceptionally well on both, but after a couple of days I got the rejection in an automated email. Basically stating they couldn’t provide me with any feedback on their decision, but they wanted my feedback on what I thought of the interview process. How ironic I thought. Then a day or two later I received an email from the original recruiter hoping to get my feedback, I think they rather me leave my feedback in an email rather than on here. Well sorry your plan didn’t work! I’m relieved and feel I dodged a bullet working here. The recruiting process is a horrible first impression of what’s the probably come at this company. They need to clean it up, not make it so lengthy, not make candidates jump through hoops, not give a ridiculously long assessment that I felt I should’ve been paid for like I was doing free work and this job already, and not be so damn picky. I’m sure they lost the opportunity to hire a lot of perfectly high candidates with this process and decision making of theirs. I hope this review helps and future candidates applying for this role to not even bother. I really hope it help recruitment wake up!

      Interview

My interview experience with Headway was nothing short of amazing. Every step of the process felt intentional, thoughtful, and incredibly human. The team made me feel supported, respected, and genuinely excited about the opportunity. From the first conversation to the final round, I was consistently impressed by the clarity, communication, and kindness shown throughout. It’s clear that Headway not only values talent but also the experience of each candidate—and that speaks volumes about the culture.

      Customer Experience Associate Interview

      9 Sept 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Headway (NY) in Aug 2023

      Interview

Upon receiving my first interview contact, an outline of their hiring process was provided at the bottom of the email. There are 5 steps, including the offer. After the first interview (quick 30 min meeting with talent team member), I was advised the next step was changing. Typically it’s a take home test, but due to prior rounds, they decided to change it into a live exercise. That’s followed by a prep meeting with the talent team again to go over expectations for the following 2 behaviors interviews. If you make it past that portion, they will check your references and finally have the offer meeting. The interview questions aren’t hard, however, I think the entire process is a test. The time length especially can be anxiety filled, but I’ve come to appreciate companies that are more intentional about who they hire versus those that hire people on a whim. It was a test of patience, especially how you handle yourself under different circumstances.
