Throughout the whole process I was lied to over and over about what the job would be like.

Very long interview process, after the application and physical test the polygraph I would say is the interview, very nerve reckoning but be truthful even if you feel you are being judge. No one is perfect just learn from your mistakes. Being a veteran goes far in the interview plus you'll be more accustomed to the life i.e. lack of sleep, watch, paperwork, training and etc.
