I applied through other source. I interviewed at Handshake in Sept 2023
Interview
Reached out on Linkedin, then organized a phone call. The recruiter was phoning from a car which seemed quite unprofessional. Questions were basic : tell me about yourself, salary expectation, starting date. I never got any feedback and when asking for it was told that I hadnt been selected with a generic message.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake (Berlin) in Aug 2023
Interview
It was great in terms of content, very much based on your character not direct knowledge. Everyone was really kind and listened. However, there were a lot of interviews for the role which felt a little bit unnecessary but they offered to give feedback which was also super constructive and it helped me a lot in my future roles.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Handshake (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2022
Interview
One of the longest interviews I ever had. Took a lot of my time out and trust me this process can be trimmed/streamlined. They know it’s long but they just don’t want to change.
Overall, here is the 10 excessive step process:
1 - Recruiter - 30min to vet
2 - Hiring Manager - 45min to vet - they should change this to 1 hr due to the number of questions and details the hiring manager wants to go into
3 - Complete an email - they say its 30min but it’s not. You need to research multiple support articles, look at the job posting link they have, and create another email in that email.
4 - Recruiter - 15min to prep for the long day (sometimes broken into 2 days but it’s still long overall)
5 - Hiring Manager - 45min - should change this to 1 hr
6 - Manager of the CSMs - 30min
7 - one of the Program Managers - 30min
8 - another one of the Program Managers - 30 min
9 - Director of the CSMs - 30min
10 - Hiring Manager - 20-30min - email says it’s to chat about the career path BUT REALLY it’s off topic and its another interview with questions the hiring manager has doubt about or it was not answered in the 90min interviews previously. (if everyone else can decide if they think you're fit for the job in 30min and the hiring manager cannot decide in 90min, there are red flags). If you do not have fatigue by this point, then kudos to you.
Lastly, I'm not sure why the hiring manager will move you on if you did not pass the hiring manager stage because now you are wasting EVERYONE’S time.

Question 1
A lot of questions and interviews, it is exhausting but here are some things to be prepared for - The STEPS questions. What steps would you take to do x, y, z. They want you to be specific:
Describe steps that you took when you need to push back. Potentially need to role play this.
