There were two rounds in this selection process – 1. Coding challenge 2. Video interview
In coding challenge they provided 2 problem statements with the deadline of 2 days.
1st question- Objective: To develop a Q&A bot for the given dataset. Fine-tuning an open-source Language Model (LLM) or integrate a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technique with an LLM. The complete code should be capable of running locally on a laptop or on any open-source cloud platform (free for students).
2nd question- Objective: To develop a neural network model capable of segmenting stones from the background in a given set of images.
I chose to go for 2nd question and completed it within the deadline.
My interview went really well and the recruiter was happy with me and told me that they are looking forward for me to join them. But they ghosted me after the interview!!!!!

1. Why chosing Image Segmentation?
2. Techniques used and accuracy for the model.
3. ML algorithms and their pros.
4. Python basic questions like what is a decorator, lambda function etc.
5. Does SVM support multi-class classification? If yes, how?
6. What is backpropagation?
7. What is feedforward NN?
30 minute interview with hiring manager. Basically just went over items on my resume and discussed potential projects at Halliburton as well as company values. Overall, very easy to talk to and a lot of insight gained.
Simple, 1 interview, mostly behavioral asked a couple of basic Python questions. Mostly went through my experiences and resume, asked some high-level technical questions based on my background. Interviewer was easy-going, talked about the company and work to be expected during the internship.
