Initially I was very impressed. Application was straightforward and then the offer to come in for an assessment morning was quick. However this is really where the positives end. 1. Main HR person arrived to the office after myself and the other candidate. Late. 2. The main IT interviewer really should be taking a more modern approach in style. Sitting there for 1.5 hours typing verbatim my answers to reams of questions is old school. 3. Telling candidates that they would hear back for offers within 48 hours, then requesting further online tests also is not conducive to good time management. 4. Taking up nearly an entire working day for the above processes to then hear nothing back AT ALL is plain disrespectful. Although this is something many companies could do with learning from. 5. The story ends well for me because the following week I had a completely different company and approach to interviewing and recruiting which made me realise just how bad HTec had been! I accepted their offer immediately.
