      Human Resources Interview

      5 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HCA Healthcare in Mar 2021

      Interview

First interview with a recruiter then a follow up interview on another day with the hiring manager. Interview with the recruiter was as expected. I was asked about my background, etc. to determine if he/she felt I was a good enough fit to pass through to the hiring manager for a 2nd round interview. Interview with the hiring manager went well, but was deceiving. The conversation flowed very well, and our personalities seemed to mix well. I was told how great the interview went towards the end of the call, and what I should expect for next steps which included a 3rd and final round interview. After almost 2 weeks I received nothing more than a very cold, generic rejection template email. Coming from a lengthy HR background their processes in this area could use a great deal of improvement. 1. Coach your hiring managers. A hm should never ever ever lead a candidate on when there is no intention of moving them to next steps. 2. A candidate that hasn’t been chosen for the next round or role should be notified ASAP rather than having them wait 2 weeks with no response at all. 3. A rejection letter should be human, not a cold generic template taken from a google search. While I understand with a large company with multiple candidates it can be difficult, and time consuming to tailor a rejection letter specific to each candidate; however, make it human not a robotic response. The way these were handled puts a sour taste in a candidate’s mouth. It makes the company look disorganized and simply as if they couldn’t care less. It’s safe to say I’m thankful I didn’t get the role, because a company that doesn’t follow up with some sense of professionalism and has a broken recruiting process isn’t suddenly going to turn into a great place to work once you’re on payroll.

      Interview

They rejected me for asking for too much money when what I asked for was within the range they posted. This leads me to believe that they want to attract qualified talent without paying them appropriately.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at HCA Healthcare in Mar 2024

      Interview

This is not an employer you want to work for. I was excited to be considered for a role but am now appalled at the lack of professionalism of the team, respect for candidates, and the recruitment process or lack thereof. I had four interviews with a total of 10-12 people. At my final interview (on site), only 2 of the 4 people showed up on time. I followed up and thanked each of them, but have been ghosted since my in-person interview a month ago. This is not a "best employer" or a team that "shows up." The nicest possible way I can say how I feel is that I'm grateful I did not receive an offer since the way employers treat candidates mirrors the way they treat employees.
