Interview
The interview process was pretty simple. I had only one interview: in person. (No phone interview.) They ask about your favorite TV shows and movies, what you know about screenplays/teleplays, and how your workload at school will fit into this internship.
I interviewed for a development intern position at Pretty Matches Productions, which is Sarah Jessica Parker's production company within HBO. It's definitely good to be familiar with SJP's work, but probably best not to come off like a fanboy/fangirl during the interview.
1 Workhue recorded interview with 7 questions, followed by an in person interview. Process took about 2 weeks. Interviewers were super nice, and during the recorded interview you get 2 chances if you mess up.

Interview
It started with a cover letter and resume, then a recorded video interview followed by a phone interview. The process wasn't as intensive as say tech or finance interviews, but there's no magic formula to getting it. They want hardworking people who are willing to get coffee with a smile but also people who can do more than what they're asked of. It also helps if you know someone already at HBO, they receive thousands of applicants for only 2-3 positions per department.
