Interview
I had applied about a week prior to the day they called me for my first interview. They called around 1PM on a Saturday to set up the first interview which was a group interview. The group interview was really fun and relaxing, there was 8 of us but the original group was supposed to be 12 people. It was divided into 4 parts: The first part was introduction, we were given a sheet of paper and told to write our name and 4 major things about us. The second part was marketing, we were split into 4 groups of 2 and made to sell an HEB brand product. The third part was scenario questions, we were each given a scenario (Example: You see an associate stealing, what would you do?) and we had to explain what we would do. And the last part was a sheet of questions like why we want to work for HEB and explain what is great customer service. The key to the group interview is standing out, they look for who is outgoing and friendly and not laid back and to themselves. Then if chosen they would call back for the 1:1 interview. I was called back the next day around 8PM to set up my 1:1. The 1:1 was very easy for me, the lady interviewing was very relaxed and made it easy. She asked about my background and if I had open availability then a few scenario based questions and I was presented a job offer on the spot. Easiest interview process by far, although she said it could take a few weeks to start, however I started 6 days later.

The process is simple enough, its mostly a lot of STAR based questions. And the digital interview is basically the same as the in person. The questions most of the time will be identical, if not extremely similar.

I interviewed at a grocery store where the manager asked about my customer service skills and availability. The atmosphere was friendly, and I felt confident discussing my past teamwork experience.

It was easy and straightforward. I received a call back days later and went in for an interview. The manager was very engaged and felt like a conversation. I was called a week later to being my onboarding process.
