I was lucky enough to find out about the job through my cousin, so i thank them for that. I honestly would say that it took me almost 1 month to officially become an HEB employee. First, you apply to your desired location, they will call you by phone afterwards. It took about 3 days for them to leave a voicemail asking me to come in for my first interview. You will meet with the manager and you will go over your experience, desired pay, scheduling, and last but not least, the most dumbest question any employer could ever ask, 'why do you want this job or why should i hire you?' Don't try to be cocky and say something obvious like, 'because i need a job duh'. They will call you in 3 more times for interviews before they eventually hire you. What i found stupid right of the bat is the fact that one of the managers said that we would get paid the first day of training, but it never happened. I almost did not get the that very same day for not paying for an item before opening, even though that manager said it was okay to get a snack.
