When I first got there for the interview I didn't know exactly where I was to go but I did know who I was to meet. I ask one of the girls at customer service, who kindly paged the manager to come down. When he came down he greeted me, shook my hand and then led me to where the interview would take place, which was more of a meeting room. He asked me about past job experiences, and went into more focused questions about my prior deli experience, as that was what I was applying for. This made me feel a bit more at ease with the interview because they were looking for someone who knew their way around the deli equipment and not just someone who had never done deli work. I was told about the pay rate and how raises worked as well as the hours I would be given starting out, which he also explained had the chance to be expanded based on availability and how well I did the work. After the interview I was asked if I could come back in a few days for a second interview. I agreed and got the time of the interview and was informed it would be in the same room.
The second interview consisted of the store Manager as well as the deli department manager and a Front end Manager. The reason for this is because of the other people that came in as well as myself. While I was the only one for Deli the other three were for either cashiering or bagging. I feel this second interview was a bit more of a getting to know us type and how we would fit with the company. They told us more about the company as a whole, community events, the different products and sales throughout the store and asked us a few basic generic interview questions. They left the floor open at the end if any of us had questions as well.
