First, let me preface the review by noting that this is the first time I've added a review. I was that appalled! Upon applying, the recruiter was quick to respond and we set up a call. Like most tech recruiters, they read from a script describing what they are looking for, had no real insight into the inner workings of an engineering org., and listened for keywords matching their tech stack. At this point, I am pretty familiar with this repertoire and it's just part of the broken process. There are many well-experienced recruiters, but it is evident that at Grow, they are merely serving as middlemen with close to no idea nor experience as to whom and what they are hiring for. I was moved on to the next round fairly impatiently and the technical prompt email came through quickly. Like most reviews below, the technical assessment prompt is broad, technically speaking (architecture from the backend system to the UI, logging metrics, scaling, etc). The kicker is, the prompt is suspiciously close to a product they could be working on or wanting to improve currently, which the prompt assures Grow is not. Again, this didn't feel great but I put the time in. Irrespective of the quality of my response, the recruiter should at least respond with a confirmation of receipt or rejection. Instead, they just went radio silent. I even followed up, but nothing. This process demonstrates the work culture at Grow though, they pride themselves in being proponents of mental health and good wlb. If you want to get practiced dealing with young inexperienced recruiters who do not have decency, respect, or maturity this is the place for you. I'd expose this recruiter's name if I could, but that wouldn't be fair. I just hope they gain the experience as a functioning human and perhaps take a jab at the assessment themselves and get some feedback from their peers to better understand the process.
