I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Group One Trading in Sept 2012
Interview
Submitted resume through company website. HR lady emailed me about 2 weeks later asking to set up a time to talk over the phone...didnt give me any specifics but I figured it was going to be interview format. About a week later, she called me and put their manager of operations on the phone to interview me. Based on previous posts on this site, I figured it would be more math-heavy, but she spent about 15-20 mins asking behavioral questions, mixing in some option/trading definitions and other general questions. After that she asked how my math was and proceeded to ask 5-6 math questions that you are expected to not only figure out quickly, but explain your process out loud while you mentally calculate it. Also, these math questions start off very easy and get progressively harder
Overall, I thought the interview went well, although the lady called me out a couple times for sounding discouraged (not sure why), and when asked about a confrontation Ive had with someone, she asked if I punched the person in the face, which i thought was a little weird but whatever. Got an email a couple days later saying they were impressed with everything but going to pursue other candidates...blah blah

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Group One Trading (Chicago, IL)
Interview
It was very straight forward, I applied, got called in. First asked about behavioral based questions. Tell me about yourself. Why trading? Why Group One?
talked about experiences on resume, then they asked me mental math problems. The whole process lasted around 30 minutes.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Group One Trading (Chicago, IL)
Interview
Contacted the recruiter with my resume and set up an initial phone interview. This was behavioral with a few easy math questions at the end. Lasted around 30 minutes. After that, had an additional phone interview with managing director. This time was straight behavioral, again around 30 minutes. Both interviews were very conversational, not stressful at all. The questions were not designed to trick you.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Group One Trading in Feb 2015

It was very fair. Asked mental math and a few probability questions along with behavioral questions like why a trader and personality traits. Stories that demonstrate certain qualities like normal behavioral interviews.
