      Software Engineer Interview

      8 Jan 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Portland, OR
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Greenbits (Portland, OR) in Dec 2017

      Interview

I applied through a recruiter and then received a HackerRank challenge (60 minutes, 4 questions). After doing the challenge I was then set up with a phone interview with the CTO a week later. The CTO only asked me two questions during the phone interview after explaining what Green Bits was about for the first 5 minutes. Describe a challenging project you have worked on and what 3 values would you instill in a startup? I answered his questions as best as I could but didn't receive any follow up questions, which is what I usually expect from the interviewer if I describe a project. This interview was just a huge waste of my time for me and from the tone of his voice he didn't sound interested at all in my answers. After that he asked me if I had any questions for him so I did asked some to keep the conversation going but at this point I'm fairly sure he already made up his mind. I received a rejection email a few days later.
