Interview
Several Steps, typical for a tech company. Screening, Hiring Manager, Group Interview. Technical Challenge. All conducted via video call. The role felt a bit undefined. Perhaps partly due to the startup nature of the company.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a challenging interpersonal situation with a coworker (or something to that effect)

Interview
Quick chat with HR, quick chat with hiring manager, two technical interviews (one with coding challenge and code review, the other a systems design challenge), next step I believe was another interview with the team but I didnt make it that far :(
Everyone was very friendly, responded within a reasonable period of time, and were kind enough to not ghost me at the end.

Question 1
Half of the one technical interview was a 'code review' which I took as more of a pull request kind of code review but I think they actually wanted more of a quick code overview/rewrite on the spot.

Interview
I applied online and received a response approximately 20 days later. First video call was a typical screener with someone from HR, and I was quickly moved to the next round, a video call with the director of product. This was one of the more pleasant and conversational interviews I've ever had, and the interviewer was very transparent in a way I appreciated.
I was moved to the next round, with an engineering leader. The focus of that chat was primarily on how I collaborate with engineering. A few days later I was scheduled to meet with two potential product peers.
Unfortunately, that interview was postponed and rescheduled for a week later. The morning of the rescheduled interview, I received a message that they were closing the role (not clear if this was because they hired someone, or what).
All in all, a reasonably pleasant experience that ended with a sour note thanks to the reschedule/cancellation - leaves me wondering if things would have turned out differently if the 4th call wasn't rescheduled, or if that was just some sort of stall tactic (obviously, I'll never know). Praise where praise is earned - the team member coordinating the interview schedules was a real star, very pleasant and professional.
