I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Philadelphia, PA) in Jun 2011
Interview
The recruiting process started with an on-campus interview for the Grant Thornton Footsteps leadership program. After being accepted to the program and ultimately completing the program they asked if I would like to come in for a 2nd interview/office visit. The initial interview consisted of background and behavioral questions. It was conducted by the recruiter. The office visit and interviews were very conversation based. I met with two different audit Senior Managers. Both Senior Managers were very nice, and laid back. It made for a very comfortable interview and atmosphere.
I applied online. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Online interview conducted using HireVue. Was emailed to schedule an in person interview. Felt fairly laid back, which was likely due to the position I was applying for since they were not expected much prior experience.

I applied online. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2025
Interview
The process was very straightforward. It was two back-to-back 30-minute behavioral interviews. My first one was with a managing director and the second one with a partner. They were both very nice.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Houston, TX)
Interview
Straightforward and very respectful! It was an hour long and more conversational than formal. Make sure to be able to answer why audit, why GT, and what you hope to gain from the internship. Prepare enough questions to keep the conversation going.
