      Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Interview

      Application

I interviewed at Gourmia (Brooklyn, NY)

      Interview

Initial call with recruiter who was brand new. He seemed so nervous I had to coach him through the discussion. Follow up with COO went well and they gave me an assignment. After a month I was told the owner only wanted candidates who had specific industry experience (which is usually a bad idea for a marketing role). But it left a bad taste as they wasted my time with interviews and a presentation (assignment). After reading consumer complaints on their products and customer service, it seems like this business is indifferent to the importance of brand, thus making it a challenging situation for the CMO.
