Had a recruiter screen - did not move on. Afterwards it was supposed to be a technical interview with a developer. I was not expecting technical questions in recruiter call and this was my first interview

in first interview asked lc medium top-k elements, got that. Then second interview asked lc hard longest repeating substring. Got a baseline solution using hash maps but interviewer was insistent on getting optimal solution. Hints given were not informative.
