      Finance Student Placement Interview

      16 Feb 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Windsor, South West England, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Golfbreaks.com (Windsor, South West England, England) in Feb 2026

      Interview

First Stage - Applied through their website with a CV and a cover letter Second Stage - A short 15 min phone interview with two people from the team that includes basic behavioural questions and your understanding of the role and the company Third Stage - Assessment Centre in-person which consisted of 7 people in total. Introductions with everyone (Current Placement Students, Other candidates and people from the team + HR), short presentation from the company about themselves and about the team + role, icebreaker (problem to solve with another candidate), office tour, short tests (one was a comprehension worksheet had questions drawn from the presentation and another was a basic secondary school level maths worksheet e.g. foreign exchange conversion, number patterns), and then lastly two interviews (one was technical with some of the more senior people from the team and another culture fit) Note - you have quite a bit of time to talk with other candidates + current placement students in between sessions so definitely be engaging and curious Overall really lovely and very personable team with a priority on making the candidates feel comfortable and a very straight-forward process. I appreciated that they didn't have any digital interviews or assessments. They definitely had a focus on the candidate being a culture/personality fit rather then having all the experience required (e.g. Excel skills, Sage etc.).
