I applied online via Craigslist and got a call not long after about setting up an interview. I arrived early and sat down and filled out a lot of paperwork for background and reference checks, a medical coding test and a typing test. Then I waited for about 20 minutes.
Two managers came in to interview me. They were very friendly and joked around a lot with each other which reduced the normal interview stress level for me. They had 3 pages of interview questions and it appeared that they were picking and choosing questions at random to ask. The interview lasted a long time, but I felt extremely comfortable. Wish I had taken them up on their offer for water before I started.
One thing I wish they mentioned in the ad was the overtime needed for the position one week per month. Apparently it's work until the whole department finishes. So they said sometimes you won't leave until 12pm-2am. Although I've had a job like that, that's a pretty big bomb to drop in an interview with no time to digest if that is something I want or not. That should have been in the ad.
I was told they will have a round of second interviews next week after they review the tests and I will get a call at the end of the week if chosen. I didn't get a call.
