Interview

The recruiter approached me on linkedin and shared the JD. We hopped on a call for few minutes to understand what is being offered and if my skills match the requirements. Screening: (See questions section below) 30 minutes Little technical discussion related to time complexity etc. Coding and PSA: (See questions section below) 120 minutes A take home test on codility. You are free to use your ide and then copy back the code. Technical Screening: (See questions section below) 90 minutes Involved a lot of software engineering fundamentals and technology choices. Application Architecture: (See questions section below) 60 minutes Low level design of the given problem. System Architecture: (See questions section below) 60 minutes High level design of given problem. Live Coding: (See questions section below) 90 minutes Either on codility or in your ide with screen share on. The interviewer pasted the question in the chat and explained the requirements. Behavioural Interview: (See questions section below) 60 minutes

Recruiter Screening What languages have you worked with? What data structures and design pattern do you use? How would you make a class immutable? Time complexity of a HashTable, LinkedList, Arrays etc.

Application Architecture: Design Whatsapp with following features- User can send a message to another user or a group A user can create a group Then some extension like what if we want to support multimedia messages etc. Draw class diagram for the problem

System Architecture: Design glovo with following scope- User can create account and login User can list restaurants and check menus User can order something from menu User can make payments for the order Restaurants have to accept/reject the order Delivery person has to accept/reject the delivery request Delivery person status should be updated to the user every 2 seconds And then what kund of DB/cache/messaging system would you use etc. You basically need to defend your choice or maybe change it if doesn't look right.

What do you do in your current job What is TDD Feedback about you from your teammates ----- from manager What would you do in a situation if your colleague is not following the recommended practice/process etc? What do you think is difference in responsibilities of a junio, mid and a senior engineer? etc

This was a lengthy process. It all started with a 45 min round with HR. The usual stuff, pretty relaxed. Then onto the technical interviews: You are given specific details on what topics to brush up on in order to prepare for each step of the interview process. There was a technical call of about 45 mins covering basics of software development. Then a Codility challenge which was of medium difficulty. Then the "final 4" of interviews split in 2 days: systems, architecture, live coding and culture fit. One of the lengthy interview processes I ever attended. First, there will be a Recruiter Screening interview, then a 90mins Technical Screening interview. If you pass them, then there will be 4 rounds of interviews. First, 90 mins Coding interview, 60 mins system design, 60 min object oriented design and then behavarioul interview with the manager. Overall it takes atleast 3 weeks for the whole process.

1)Recruiter and Technical screening will be around mostly coding principles like SOLID, JVM, memory model etc. 2) Coding questions :- Find first non repeating character, find the frequency of given element in sorted array and find the maximum sum. 3) Object Oriented Design:- Design low level Scooter Rental. 4) System design :- Design food delivery system like swiggy.
