The interview process was awful. It seems that there are lots and lots of managers (not existing proper organization to distribute the management tasks or create a proper hierarchy in this very large institute without organization). It seems that there are lots of internal conflicts with different sections specially between the former IBM affiliates and the former GF affiliates. After my interviews, I simply decided to avoid following up and look for other positions at more organized places. It should be technically very challenging to scale down the semiconductor devices using Moore's law after 2020 while the purpose of significant investment of GF to hire several good and a lot of mid or low quality engineers is not clear.
