I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Global Policy Solutions (Washington, DC) in Jan 2012
Interview
The interview process placed emphasis on unimportant issues. It consisted of two rounds. The first round, I met with the CEO and a deputy. I was struck by how strage the deputy was dressed. Her clothing was wrinkled and dirty. I was surprised and thought I was a bit overdressed for the occasion. I was asked to submit a writing sample. I was invited to the second round interview. It felt like an interrogation. I was by a past employee that many people who start do not stay with this company for very long. Once the second interview was over, I knew the CEO was not someone I would want to work for. When we had the second interview, she seemed pre-occupied with status. She mentioned that she was highly upset that she had to wait to see the President and First Lady at some event because they were occupied with (what I deem) more important people and issues. She talked about how she was invited to this or that gala. Her tone while explaining this was one of arrogance.
Luckily, I became employed by a much larger and more prestigious strategy consulting firm.
