The initial screen went well and the recruiter even gave me a heads up about the technical. I made an assumption based on the job description that I would be creating something in rails but the technical was in straight ruby and I felt caught off guard and got really nervous (I have anxiety disorder). I got as far as I could in the "pair programming" session which was really just 2 people watching me awkwardly code. But when I was done I finished my solution and sent it in with an explanation. I put in a lot of prep and effort and was genuinely excited. Never heard back...

Interview
I had a really solid experience with the GiveCampus interview team. From the very first email, their communication was clear, timely, and genuinely thoughtful, which honestly makes a big difference when you're going through the stress of interviewing.
Everyone I spoke with was friendly and transparent about what to expect at each step. They laid out the process clearly, gave me enough prep time, and followed up quickly after every round. No black holes or ghosting here, just real people who seem to actually respect your time.
What stood out most was how human the whole process felt. Even the technical parts didn’t feel like a trap; it felt like they wanted to understand how I think and solve problems, not just quiz me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions in the early rounds are pretty standard and nothing to stress over. They mostly focused on walking through my work history, talking about past projects, and explaining why I was interested in the company and the role.
It felt more like a conversation than an interrogation, which I appreciated. No curveballs or overly tricky questions — just a chance to share my experience and talk about how I’d approach things at GiveCampus.
Overall, if you’ve prepped your usual “tell me about yourself” and “why this company” answers, you’ll be in good shape. Definitely one of the more relaxed and respectful interview experiences I’ve had.

After the cultural interview then you'll get a technical interview. In the technical interview, they asked me to do a palindrome checker app and basic knowledge in JS and React within an hour.
