I applied online. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences
Interview
I first got a response from a recruiter on 10/30/20, which would be the beginning of a 2 month long process which ended up in me getting ghosted. The interview process was fairly straightforward (3 rounds) and the communication in the beginning was good; then a new recruiter took over on 11/20 and told me the hiring manager would be out until the 7th; on the 7th I sent a quick note just to get back on their radar and telling her to please contact me if she hears anything because I was interviewing with other companies, and she sent a rude condescending email in response:
"As the manager returns to work today and it is only 7AM, I am sure she has not signed on yet, so no I do not have any feedback yet. I am sure today she will be inundated with work from being out so will be extremely busy. When she has more info, she will share it and if I do not hear from her by mid-day tomorrow I will reach out…"
I sent that email around 10am pacific, so I don't know where she pulled that "7am" line from. That was the last email I would receive (12/7/20) for a process that began 10/30/20. It's 12/21/20 and not a single response from her in the 3 weeks since that weird email. Her email said "contractor" so I would hope she's not a permanent fixture in the hiring process going forward, so future candidates don't have to deal with the apathy I dealt with.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in Apr 2024
Interview
Detailed multi-round interview process over the course of a few weeks including HR screening, 3-person panel interview and 6 individual interviews. Very thorough but repetitive and exhausting with all the individual interviews stacked on top of each other.
