Chatted with a couple of recruiters who got me interested in the company and mission.
Following this, I went in person for a group interview with a few people including Principal Engineer and an Engineering Director, to broadly cover my technical experience.
After this, I then was asked to put together a presentation of a technical project which I worked on in the past, and present it to a few people in a group setting (a couple weeks after the first in-person interview). During this presentation we went in depth on discussing my approach and the decisions made.
Lastly, I went back in one last time to meet with people more directly on the team I might be joining. I met with the hiring manager one on one, and then with some engineers on the team where we did some pair coding. I also met with the CTO to discuss the company culture and engineering needs.
It is worth mentioning that midway through this process we found that I was a better fit for a Senior role, so the last interview round represents that.
Throughout the process, communication was very clear from everyone involved, and I felt well prepared for each interview days ahead of time. I also had plenty of chances to give my own feedback to how things were going, and it felt like this was considered, which was cool. The process overall made me feel really good about working for this company, especially when compared to some bad experiences I had interviewing elsewhere in Berlin.
