This is one of my worst interview experience. I was contacted by a recruiter for the interview.
They have a nice office at a good location. But, you may have to find your own parking space plz don't take the car for an interview or you may have to park somewhere far from the office.
GetMyParking were conducting Hackathon during the time of my interview.
Interview Process:
I really didn't understand the interviewer intentions, it felt like they want to harass candidates. Probably they need to improve interview process.
I was asked to come at 10:00 AM but the interview process started at 11:15 AM on Saturday. Only 4 guys were there for the interview and were told to build a single sign-on login system in 3hrs.
I coded the system using my own template code/boiler-plate, which I use for my off projects. Initially, she agreed with using my template code. But after 4 hours, she tells me to write the similar code(forgot password) from scratch using a different language. Stating the reason - I need to know 'how you code', implying, your last 4 hours of development were a total waste.
Rhetorically I showed my myriad number of uploads in my GitHub, but still, she was adamant on "I want to know how you code".
Also, whenever I wanted to show/explain my code, she would listen for a moment and then go back to continue her hackathon - she was taking hackathon and interview.
Their TEAM and Office:
Try signing up with the GetMyParking and it will take 3-4 sec to get a response, they have built a college project with a bad UI. Working with them might surely feel like you are building an age-old CRUD application with no proper guidance to scale the infrastructure. They would surely be fetching location info based on threshold lat/long and not on quadtree.
Feedback:
1. Get My Parking, you have an inferior interview process, improve it - no one yet has given a good feedback on your interview methods. Work on it.
2. Generally, assignments are given so that interviewer can sit and relax. And if, after 4 hours of coding if you are still want to know "I want to know how you code" - you are harassing the candidate, stop it.
3. If you don't have time to take the interview, stop calling the candidates.
