the interview started in an unusual manner as i told the interviewers that i was pretty scared and was thinking that i had forgotten everything i studied so far. it was my first interview. they were friendly and tried to make me feel comfortable. they mainly asked me a lot of questions from statistics including central tendencies, moments, skewness, kurtosis, global tests, distributions, and many other things. i answeres everything. one of the interviewers said,'you said, you're scared, but you have answered everything we asked!' this raised my level of confidence. they, then asked about the electives i have chosen. knowing that 'game theory' is my favourite paper, they asked me a few questions on that. i answered them. then they raised a case study question which i answered. the interviewers were satisfied when it was done, and i was as well. then i had the HR interview which was also good, the interviewer asked me to tell about myself and a few questions followed it. it was also pretty satisfying for me. by the evening, they announced 7 names (including mine) and congratulated them. they did this not in front of us, but, in front of our placement co-ordinators who later let us know. i was happy. i very happy. it was a wonderful feeling. but, 3-4 days later, they sent an email saying that they are offering the offer letters to only 5 of us ( which didn't include me).it was very disappointing. i felt bad. i felt very bad. they didn't tell us why they did this or on basis of what they made this newer version of the short-list! since it was a campus recruitment, i know all the fellow participants, i have an idea of their academic results, also, they shared their experiences of the interviews, i could not figure out a reason of excluding me.
