Given a coding task, not overly complex but stated a good testing approach and clean design. I completed the task, meeting every criteria requested exactly. Beyond the brief in some aspects I would say. Then got a no, with no feedback whatsoever. Never got a 'no' for a technical test before in my life. No opportunity to explain or defend any technical decisions. If they were looking for a particular style (efficiency, simplicity, testing, etc) they could have just asked. But despite meeting their task brief to the letter, I get nothing. Gave the impression of a flippant attitude, and a disregard for the candidates time. Wouldn't waste my time ever applying there again..
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Genomics
Interview
30 min phone interview, informal chat, plus a trivial programming question. Following that, a simple coding exercise (but they requested I do it in a language not mentioned on my CV - presumably to test my ability to pick up something new.)
After that, a 2 hour face to face, firstly a
leetcode style whiteboard problem (though no actual coding), followed by a systems question.
No feedback or further questioning on the coding exercise, and no questions about my CV or experiences.

We have this data, we want to do these queries, specify is a system to do it, and tell us how much it will cost.
