I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2014
Interview
I was interviewed by 2 separate managers from Nexus Business solutions who were contracted out by General Motors to hire for the new Fleet program. The interviews were both phone interviews and lasted about an hour each time. They were not particularly interested in automotive experience, but rather sales experience.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Boston, MA) in Nov 2015
Interview
The phone interview with the recruiting firm was the usual stuff. They asked for prior success stories, describe a time I failed in a prior role, usual behavioral questions to uncover character flaws in the candidate.
I did two phone interviews with the recruiting firm and made it to the third round which was a face to face interview with a GM executive Gianni Lalos. With Gianni, there was a representative from the recruiting firm, he said his job was to convince me I wasn't a good fit for the position. Right out of the gate he told me he didn't think I was a good fit and that he didn't know why I had been given the third interview. Obviously trying to rattle me and see how I would react. I actually said I agreed and said I know! Why would you ever interview an accomplished sales professional with 10 years experience selling value ? They didn't think it was funny, but at that point I was over their charade.
