The process started off with the recruiter telling me that I was exactly what they were looking for and based on my positive references, they may even forgo the interview process and just hire me. Then they had me do a coding test, which was fairly easy and I was allowed to use internet resources and they gave me ample time to solve the problem. That's when things started to go awry. Although the recruiter made all kinds of promises about the job being a sure thing, it turns out that the job they wanted to hire me for did not actually exist. They had not even secured the contract they were trying to hire me for. Then, since they didn't want to lose me, they sent me into an interview with a FAANG level client without telling me I would be getting a FAANG level coding challenge for a senior level position in a language I was upfront that I was not an expert it. It was embarassing and unfair. After that, they informed me that the original job they wanted to hire me for did not actually exist. A few weeks later they said they had secured the contract and were ready to move forward. But they were once again lying and could not give me a final interview date or start date a week after they told me they were ready to proceed. Finally, I had to tell them I was no longer interested in the job, because I had lost all faith and trust that they could tell the truth. The interview/hiring process was extremely unprofessional and dishonest, which I took as a major red flag that Geisel Software mistreats people and is dishonest to increase profit margins.
