I submitted a CV and cover letter via their online portal. Shortly after, I was contacted about a phone interview. After, I attended the recruitment day along with two other candidates, which involved (a) a personal interview, (b) a patent drafting task, (c) 30 minutes of work shadowing, (d) a technical interview involving discussion of a new invention and whether it infringes on prior art, (e) a written task to describe an object in detail, (f) a lunch discussion with firm employees, (g) a written grammar-checking exercise, (h) a puzzle and (i) written questions on common physics concepts such as "What's Ohm's law", "describe conservation of mechanical energy".
Overall, it was a nice experience, and everyone I met was lovely. A week later I received a phone call letting me know the feedback and that I didn't get the job. After having been ghosted so many times by other companies after investing a similar level of time and effort, it was very refreshing to receive that call.
