I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (London, England) in Sept 2024
Interview
Started with a call to get to know the candidate/experience/career aspirations. Then it moved on to a virtual interview which assessed why sales and why Gartner questions as well as examples where you demonstrated 'x' trait. Lastly, a final virtual interview assessing character traits using the STAR method as well as a role-play.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner (London, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
Was contacted by a recruiter - 3-round process.
The first round was motivational questions and a test of understanding of the firm (conducted by a recruiter).
The second round was similar, but with more competency and behavioural-style questions.
The third round was a repeat of the second round with more senior recruitment personnel. Nothing is too complicated; however, the interviewers tend to dig very deep and will often ask 3-4 follow-up questions for each question.
They also look for candidates who behave in a very interactive way, as if the interview were between two colleagues of the same rank, rather than a traditional interview.
There is a 10-15-minute role-play towards the end in which you simulate a cold-call scenario. I would say this is the most challenging part of the process.

Question 1
Why work in sales as opposed to another 'more prestigious' career, such as finance or consulting?
3 interviews 1 phone call 1 prep call and 1 main zoom call. Recruiters were really good at keeping you up to date with the process. Overall good communication and I loved my role.
