Was contacted by a recruiter. Who prepped me on the STAR format that was necessary for the next interview. Had my one hour interview with HR. Was extremely strict on the STAR format, which was difficult to stick to to the extent they would want it. Felt like they just want corporate robots who are able to spill out generic formulations of past experiences. Furthermore, the person I interviewed with was pretty harsh, and after the interview when I explained that I had not done an interview with such a focus on the STAR method, that people who are older who havent interviewed in about 20 years are able to do it just fine. Well, obviously with corporate experience this is surely a little bit easier. Thought they were pretty rude, where the people who had screened me had been lovely. I left the interview exhausted, it was truly a very negative experience, and was relieved when I received the rejection. They do not want to get to know you they just want to hear the STAR format read out to them on repeat for an hour.
The process for this role is also really long, and I am sure at gartner you are treated like a corporate number
