I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner in Mar 2020
Interview
Most unprofessional experience I have ever had. Applied for account manager role had an initial 20 min phone interview with a recruiter- was initially very nice and really tried to sell the role and company. This was followed by an hour long video interview with a 15 minute sales role play with hiring manager after this interview I was told I’d be moving onto next stages but then emailed later by the hiring manager saying my answers were perfect as was my role play but she was unsure of my “character” felt like this wasnt very constructive criticism to work with but she scheduled a follow up interview for 30 mins. On this follow up interview within 5 minutes of it starting she changed her mind and said she would put me forwarded and congratulated me on moving ahead. I then get an email two days later saying I would not actually be moving ahead as they had candidates with more experience but instead wanted to put me forward for an associate (entry level role) despite me graduating two years ago and having 3 years industry experience. I decided to go for the role anyway as I did really like the sound of the company prior to this experience. The recruiter then set up another call with me lasting 30 mins describing the new role. I then was told I had to do another hour interview woth a role play. Because this interview process he now already lasted three weeks I was keen to move more quickly especially as I was between jobs so wanted reassurance my previous interview would be considered and information from that would be passed on. I get on to the interview with the next hiring manager. Firstly she was late by 30 mins, she then forgets my name multiple time’s , yawns and asked almost word for word the questions I had already been asked multiple times by the recruiter and previous hiring manager. It felt very much like she was reading off a script and didn’t really pay attention to any of my answers. Following this interview I emailed the recruiter a thank you , heard nothing, a week passed I email again nothing. Then a couple of hours later I get a rejection saying they had found candidates with more experience for the role - which baffles me as it’s a graduate job and I have three years experience- and then no further feedback . My main qualm with this whole process is it was drawn out over a month, I was constantly Told I’d been put through and it felt like I was being strung along when they already had someone in place. I was made to believe I basically had the grad job but then got on a call with someone who didn’t know my name and had clearly not read my cv as didn’t even know I’d left uni three years ago and thought I was still there. I think it’s really unfair for companies to string candidates along for over a month and not even put the time in to communicate with each other or prepare for interviews when I have put in 5 interviews with this company and countless hours preparing for the interviews. I was warned of this company by a previous employee of gartner and should have listened.
very thorough and well executed. they ask thought provoking quesitons and the interviewers were all fantastic. a lot of prep needed but rewarding experience. about 4 rounds of interviews ranging from recruiter to final panel interview

Question 1
Which traits are your strongest based on the key traits gartner looks for and how?
Sloppy recruiter
Unorganized
No follow up/lots of time between follow ups
phone screening and then panel interview via zoom
accidentally sent me someone else's resume
last minute added different executives to the interview
I received a message from a recruiter and had a phone screen with them. They said they would let me know about a follow up call, but they never got back to me. I reached back out to them to follow up, but I didn't receive a response.
