      Gameplay Programmer Interview

      1 Nov 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Kyiv, Kyiv
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GSC Game (Kyiv, Kyiv) in Oct 2010

      Interview

The interview consists of 3 parts: phone (screening), practise test (for an hour) and on-site interview. In general, the article from "highly professional scums" fully describes the process of hiring. However, phone interview is deeper and can take a long time (3-4 hours). The questions are typical for gamedev: C++, algorithms and their performance, memory and types casting, linear algebra and so on. On-site interview is much easier and includes general questions about previous projects and your vision of modern game engines
